Acacia is hard-wearing, with a grain that runs pale gold to deep brown across a single board. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 24 x 18 x 24 in (61 x 46 x 61 cm) and weighs about 18.3 kg.
