Mango Wood Console Table 2

A mango wood console table 2 in solid mango wood, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. Montengo solid mango wood console table. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 18 x 18 x 24 in (46 x 46 x 61 cm) and weighs about 11.1 kg.
