A mango wood nightstand/sideboard in solid mango wood, cut, joined and finished by hand. Wharby mango wooden 2 shelved doored cabinet nightstand/sideboard, decorative floral lattice design. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 18 x 16 x 24 in (46 x 41 x 61 cm) and weighs about 12.6 kg.
