Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 12 x 12 x 14 in (30 x 30 x 36 cm) and weighs about 3.1 kg.
