Mango Wood Serving Bowl

A mango wood serving bowl in solid mango wood, made one at a time rather than run off a line. Food-safe mango wood serving bowl with two slim brass handles for a refined contemporary touch; suitable for salads, fruit, bread, snacks, or as a decorative centerpiece. Finished in natural wood finish with brass accents, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 14 x 8 x 2 in (36 x 20 x 5 cm) and weighs about 1.4 kg.
