Mango Wood Serving Tray

A mango wood serving tray built to order in solid mango wood in our Saharanpur workshop. Scalloped Mango Wood Serving Tray with Handles, Rustic 16 Inch. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 16 x 10 x 2 in (41 x 25 x 5 cm) and weighs about 1.6 kg.
