A sheesham wood recliner in solid sheesham, cut, joined and finished by hand. Mid-century modern manual recliner featuring sculptural bentwood arms. Finished in walnut, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 32 x 36 x 40 in (81 x 91 x 102 cm) and weighs about 74.3 kg.
