A sheesham wood storage cabinet 8 built to order in solid sheesham in our Saharanpur workshop. French style solid wood storage cabinet. Finished in french style, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 36 x 16 x 40 in (91 x 41 x 102 cm) and weighs about 49.5 kg.
