Mango Wood Hand-Carved Floor Mirror 2

A mango wood hand-carved floor mirror 2 in solid mango wood, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. Hand carved full length framed floor mirror, 36 x 72 inches. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 24 x 2 x 36 in (61 x 5 x 91 cm) and weighs about 8.8 kg.
