Mango Wood Round Hand-Carved Wall Mirror

A mango wood round hand-carved wall mirror in solid mango wood, cut, joined and finished by hand. 30" Round Solid Wood Decorative Wall Mirror with Carved Beaded Frame. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 24 x 2 x 36 in (61 x 5 x 91 cm) and weighs about 8.8 kg.
