Mango Wood Storage Sideboard

A mango wood storage sideboard in solid mango wood, made one at a time rather than run off a line. Traditional mango wood sideboard with storage shelves, natural finish, 80 inches long. Finished in natural, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 60 x 18 x 32 in (152 x 46 x 81 cm) and weighs about 52.7 kg.
