Sheesham Wood Bed 20

A sheesham wood bed 20 built to order in solid sheesham in our Saharanpur workshop. Finished in walnut, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 78 x 84 x 42 in (198 x 213 x 107 cm) and weighs about 221.9 kg.
