Sheesham Wood Hand-Carved Bed Frame

A sheesham wood hand-carved bed frame built to order in solid sheesham in our Saharanpur workshop. Sapa solid wood bed frame with 3D carved geometric headboard, Japanese joinery construction. Finished in walnut, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 78 x 84 x 42 in (198 x 213 x 107 cm) and weighs about 221.9 kg.
