Sheesham Wood Nightstand

A sheesham wood nightstand in solid sheesham, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. Beckett Morocco brown turned wood spindle nightstand with drawer and shelf, ornate turned-leg design. Finished in morocco brown, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 18 x 16 x 24 in (46 x 41 x 61 cm) and weighs about 16.7 kg.
