Sheesham Wood Sideboard/Buffet

A sheesham wood sideboard/buffet in solid sheesham, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. Four-door sideboard crafted from a single piece of solid wood with multi-hued grain and black resin finish, magnetic doors, removable shelved interior, black iron base. Finished in multi-hued grain, black resin finish, with the grain left where you can see it. Sheesham is the wood Saharanpur is known for: dense North Indian rosewood, deep brown, and the first choice of our carvers. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 60 x 18 x 32 in (152 x 46 x 81 cm) and weighs about 69.7 kg.
