Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 32 x 14 x 60 in (81 x 36 x 152 cm) and weighs about 32.8 kg.
