The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 32 x 14 x 60 in (81 x 36 x 152 cm) and weighs about 32.8 kg.
