Mango Wood Decorative Vase 10

A mango wood decorative vase 10 built to order in solid mango wood in our Saharanpur workshop. Ava-Louisa Handmade Wood Table Vase. Finished in honey, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 10 x 10 x 14 in (25 x 25 x 36 cm) and weighs about 2.1 kg.
