A mango wood planter box in solid mango wood, made the way furniture was made before it was flat-packed. Handmade tapered cedar wood planter box with removable insert and weight shelf; pest and weather resistant. Finished in natural bare wood or stained/sealed options, with the grain left where you can see it. Mango wood is close-grained and warm in colour, a plantation hardwood that takes a finish evenly. The frame is squared and checked before the finish goes on, and again after. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. Boards are picked for grain and strength, then planed, cut and fitted by hand. We finish by hand, wiping back between coats, so the surface still feels like wood. It measures 17 x 14 x 14 in (43 x 36 x 36 cm) and weighs about 5.1 kg.
