A acacia wood etagere bookcase in solid acacia, made one at a time rather than run off a line. 5-tier etagere bookcase crafted from solid acacia wood with open-back frame, slatted shelves, and visible woodgrain; accessible from front and sides. Finished in natural woodgrain, with the grain left where you can see it. Acacia is hard-wearing, with a grain that runs pale gold to deep brown across a single board. Joints are mortise and tenon, cut and fitted dry before anything is glued. Every surface is sanded through the grades until it is smooth to the hand, not just to the eye. The timber is seasoned before a single cut is made, so the piece stays true through Indian summers and monsoons. The finish is built up in thin layers so the grain stays visible rather than buried under paint. It measures 32 x 14 x 60 in (81 x 36 x 152 cm) and weighs about 38.1 kg.
